On January 1, at midnight, the first 42 milligrams website was launched and marked the first official day of 42mg as a Limited Liability Corporation!
42 milligrams (42mg) actually started a few years prior to becoming an LLC in 2012. The owner, Robert Ehrman, built a decent portfolio of clients as a freelance developer. With a proven track record of quality work and customer support, the workload eventually became too much for one person to handle.
In late 2011, Robert started putting the wheels into motion to move 42mg to an LLC. That's where the journey of 42 milligrams begins. The timeline below outlines some of the events that brought 42 milligrams to where they are today.

As with many start-ups, we started working out of our basement. By mid-year we had secured and built out our first office space in New Hudson.
In 2012, we hired our first employees! We are happy to say we still have our Office Manager Cheryl Barnett. Thanks for 10 years Cheryl!
42 milligrams acquired two software as a service systems. A contract employee vetting system, and a food and clothing distribution system.
We hit the ground running with a handful of great, long lasting clients. But, Amphibious Medics was our first NEW client as 42 milligrams.
In 2014 the pill design was put into play. Inside the pill? 42mg of Code of course! Your Daily Dose of Code quickly became our tagline because we were always talking about what was under the hood of our sites.
Energy Design Service Systems joined us in 2014 to build and maintain their custom Lamp and Fixture Ordering System.
Emma, our first Great Dane was brought home in 2015, and quickly became our shop puppy. Having a dog in the shop certainly keeps things interesting.
Our New Hudson office was a great home, but it was small! It only had 3 cubicles and a managers office. With our projects getting more complex, it was best to give our staff their own offices.
After our move to Brighton, we joined the Brighton Chamber of Commerce to build our presence in the local area.
After creating a number of PIES/ACES generating modules for clients, we created the ACE/PIES Toolkit for other compaines to validate their PIES/ACES files.
2018 was a tough year for 42 milligrams. A great employee moved on, we lost our shop Dane Emma, and a major client put all projects on hold.
A shop with no Dane walking around was miserable. We decided to get another Great Dane. Enter Luna. At 7 months old she was diagonosed with cancer.
After a trying year battling cancer, we got Luna a playmate. Enter Jackson, Luna's real brother from another litter. This oughta be interesting!
After a tough year, we were able to come back stronger. New clients, returning work, and new dedicated staff members.
Since we had a few new faces around the office, we decided to freshen up our lobby.
After 3 weeks of radiation and 6 months without another occurrence, Luna has joined the ranks of those that have beat cancer! A HUGE Thank You to everyone at the Animal Cancer & Imaging Center!
With COVID spreading in Michigan, the governer issues a stay-at-home order. We had all employees start working from home.
After creating a number of successful mobile apps to support our applications, we added mobile development as a core service.
With COVID settling down and our staff growing, we made a move to the Grand River Annex Plaza in Brighton, MI.
We were awarded a Gold dotCOMM award for the MGA Systems website rebuild. The MGA Systems website launched in January of 2021.
Our Lear Capital interactive brochures brought our team a Platinum MarCom award. A series of flipbooks that combine video, animations, and interactivity.
As we celebrate 10 years in business, we would like to give all of our clients, partners, employees, and vendors a HUGE Thank You for a great 10 years.
Another award! We were awarded a Gold dotCOMM award for our own website. We earned it for the Business to Consumer category, specifically for Web Creativity and Digital Communication.
We expanded our service offerings to include CMS-based websites. Now we can better serve smaller businesses and start-ups.
We added new team members with different skill sets, which makes us even more valuable to our clients.
